Pastoral Care

Every member of the Stopsley High School community, students and staff, as well as being in a tutor group and a year group, belong to a House.   As House members all students have a wide range of opportunities to work together and ‘compete’ against other students, the other Houses and even against themselves, earning House points.

House points  are awarded to students in classes for a wide range of achievements.  We have also recently introduced the Stopsley High School ACE award for achievement, care and excellence.  Students can be nominated for this award by all of the school community.

Teachers use the awards system in school whereby students can achieve a range of awards during the year in curriculum subjects. The Head teachers award is given for a longer-term extra effort or achievement. Students build a total of Merits or Credits throughout the year with certificates being awarded to celebrate this achievement.

Through the year students have lots of chances to work with members of their form and House taking part in competitions and events. Some of these take place as part of lessons, some run during lunchtimes and after school and offer extra opportunity to get involved in whole school life.
